OUR CURRICULUM

Pelican Grammar School’s future-facing curriculum (The WHO I AM!™Methodology) empowers children to explore, experiment and express themselves. Our innovative learning experience cultivates connection, collaboration and creation to help children find their purpose and prepare them for real-world challenges beyond the school walls.

EXPLORATION FOR
SELF-DISCOVERY AND PURPOSE

We offer a  multifaceted approach that goes beyond traditional education. Every facet of our curriculum serves as a stepping stone for students to identify their passions and confidently define their unique path in life.

AM I GLOBAL?

Our school champions diversity and inclusion by nurturing multilingual capabilities.

Students are given the opportunity to study Mandarin, guided by the YCT (Youth Chinese Test) and HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) curriculum.

Recognising the diverse linguistic needs of our students, we provide robust support for English language acquisition through EAL (English as an Additional Language) support, ensuring every student thrives in our learning environment.

Through cultural studies, students delve into countries across Asia and Europe, cultivating a broadened global outlook.

We recognize the paramount significance of digital literacy and computing skills in today’s world. Our curriculum emphasises their importance by incorporating Digital Literacy as a key element for all year groups.

Our commitment to holistic learning encompasses the world of arts and music, fostering artistic expression and imagination within our curriculum. We offer instrumental learning opportunities alongside creative endeavours, encouraging students to explore their artistic talents and nurture their imagination.

We understand the vital role of physical activity in nurturing well-rounded individuals. Our diverse range of sports programs provide students with a platform to develop physical skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

By fostering Personal, Social & Emotional Development (PSED) in the Early Years Programme, we lay the foundation for children’s emotional resilience, social competence, and overall well-being.

We are committed in fostering a deep passion for scientific inquiry and mathematical prowess among our students. Through hands-on experiments, critical thinking exercises, and engaging mathematical challenges, we provide an environment where curiosity is nurtured, and problem-solving skills are honed.

We integrate a sustainability element – Social, Economic, and Environment (SEE) principles into our international curriculum. These principles are interwoven into all subjects, promoting a holistic approach to education. These include dedicated subjects like Global Perspectives and TED Talks to enhance students’ research, writing, critical analysis, and communication skills while Secondary students also attend Life Skills classes to implement SEE principles in their daily lives.
